Teacher Comments

Further to our conversation in class yesterday, action points to take forward from the rough cut to final cut include:-

- Continue to work on the edit so that the audience can follow the action (contextualise the bank with an establishing shot, and possibly a close-up that identifies it as a bank); identify your protagonist early on (but not using so many shots of the back of his head)
- Take care to edit your sequence so that the total running time is approximately 2 minutes in the final cut
- Add titles (credits and title with the name of your film). Remember, your final cut needs to look like an opening sequence-
Take care with continuity editing (try to achieve matches on action, avoid jump cuts, use reaction shots for your protagonist, observe the 180 degree rule etc.)

Back-up of blog

We have sensibly decided to back up our blog on word in case of computer problems or error from the members of the team. We would hate for our hard work and time to be wasted just because of a silly mistake like that.

Props and Costumes

Our costumes that we are going to dress are actors with will be everyday/casual clothes so they don't stand out from the general public, one of the props we will use will be a black medium sized suitcase giving the idea that there is money that they have stole from the bank in it, another prop we will be using is a £10 note witch will stick out of the suitcase giving more detail about what is to come in the film .

Crime Caper Research

We have chosen the genre of a crime caper for our opening sequence. We researched the genre so we could meet the conventions of it and make the sequence more effective.

"The caper story is a sub genre of Crime fiction. The typical caper story involves one or more crimes (especially thefts, swindles, or occasionally kidnappings) perpetrated by the main characters in full view of the reader. The actions of police or detectives attempting to prevent or solve the crimes may also be chronicled, but are not the main focus of the story."

Analysis of Real Title Sequence

Wimbledon

The title sequence of Wimbledon shows many typical features of a film opening scene, these include titles and the music corresponding to the moving images even though you cannot what is making the noise, this is often made out to be key to a decent opening sequence it also introduces the establishing shot
which gives an insight into the rest of he film like in this film it starts with a tennis match crowd and the film is about tennis a
ll films do this in there opening sequence to make everything make sense.

The titles of most films tell you who made the film and who acts in the film the are usually portrayed in a interesting wa
